About City Museum
The City Museum occupies a former shoe factory and warehouse in downtown St. Louis, and was created by artist Bob Cassilly using repurposed materials from the city itself: pipes, old bridges, chimneys, airplane parts and machine pieces.
More than a museum, it’s a vast space to explore and play, for children and adults. There are caves and tunnels to crawl through, ten-story slides, an aquarium, a circus and, on the roof, a Ferris wheel and a school bus hanging off the edge of the building. Outside, MonstroCity is a steel-grate structure with two suspended airplanes.
The museum has few signs and no set route: the fun is getting lost.
