When to go

December to March for the ski season, with frequent snow. June to September for hiking and mountain biking, with cool days. In transition months—April, May, October and November—some services close.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not necessarily. Free city buses connect Main Street to the ski bases and neighborhoods, and shuttle vans run from the airport. A car helps for the Olympic Park and outings in the surrounding area.
