About Gathering Place
The Gathering Place opened in 2018 on the banks of the Arkansas River, just south of downtown Tulsa, as a large urban park for all ages. It was largely funded by a philanthropic foundation and donated to the city.
The roughly 26-hectare site has adventure playgrounds with wooden towers, long slides, suspension bridges and water play areas for children. There are gardens, a pond with rowboat and kayak rentals, trails, sports courts, a skate park and a large lawn for picnics and concerts.
A boathouse with a restaurant and café sits beside the pond. An activity center hosts exhibitions and workshops.
There is no admission fee to enter the park. Some activities, such as boat rentals, require payment.
