Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.

Glacier Park Airport (FCA), in Kalispell, is about 40 km away. The long-distance train usually stops at West Glacier station during the summer season.

How many days

Two or three days, for the Going-to-the-Sun Road, Lake McDonald and the Logan Pass trails; plus one or two more for the park’s east side.

When to go

From mid-July to early September, with the road open to Logan Pass. Outside that period, much of the village’s services close.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

It helps a lot. In summer, park buses depart from the Apgar visitor center and go up the Going-to-the-Sun Road to Logan Pass.
