A region to enjoy
at your own pace.

Branson is a small city in the Ozark Mountains, in southern Missouri, near the Arkansas border. It receives millions of visitors a year, mostly families and tour groups from across the country, drawn by a rare concentration of performance theaters.

Along 76 Country Boulevard, the main avenue, dozens of show venues present country, gospel and music from past decades, variety shows, illusionists and comedy, often with two performances a day. Several well-known country artists maintain or have maintained their own theaters in the city.

West of downtown is Silver Dollar City, a theme park that recreates a 19th-century mountain village, with artisans, roller coasters and festivals. The same group operates the White Water water park on the main avenue. In summer, Table Rock and Taneycomo lakes, formed by dams on the White River, are used for boating, fishing and diving.

At the end of the year, the city fills with Christmas lights and holiday shows, which draw as many people as summer.
