When to go
December to March for skiing; the resort usually stays open until April. In January the town often hosts an international snow-sculpting competition. In summer, from June to September, the slopes become hiking and biking trails.

Do you need a car?
Not for skiing: the town has local buses and a gondola to the slopes with no fare. A car helps for trips to Vail or Denver.
