How many days

One day for the museum, the ossuary and the Kozjak waterfall. Two days to include the full Historical Trail and a stroll along the river.

When to go

From spring to autumn, for the trails and the river. The museum is open year‑round, and the Kozjak trail charges an entrance fee and has a staffed access point from April to October. Winter is quiet and cold.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not for the town centre, the museum, the ossuary and Kozjak, which are walkable. A car helps for Bovec, Tolmin and attractions farther out in the valley.
