Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.
The village lies in the upper Savinja valley, on a road that climbs from Celje via Mozirje and Luče. Buses run from Celje, which has the nearest train station with frequent connections. By car, Ljubljana is a little over an hour away; Ljubljana Airport (LJU) is about 57 km.
How many days
One night is enough for the Rinka waterfall and the Panoramic Road. With two or three nights you’ll have time for Robanov kot and a hike to the mountain huts.
When to go
From June to September, with mild days and cool nights; this is the season for trails and mountain huts. In spring the waterfall usually has more water. In winter there is snow, and some high roads may be closed.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
It helps a lot. Buses from Celje reach Solčava and, in summer, the Rinka waterfall, but the Panoramic Road, Robanov kot and the farms are spread out. The bicycle is a good option on the flat valley floor.
