How many days
One day: in the morning, the square, the Breg and the cathedral; in the afternoon, the museum and Otočec Castle. Two days allow you to include the Pleterje Charterhouse and Kostanjevica na Krki.
When to go
From April to October, for walking and river outings. In early autumn, the grape harvest livens up the surrounding hills.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
To reach the center, no: it is compact and close to the station. For Otočec, 7 km away, and Pleterje, about 20 km, a car is the most practical option because there are few buses.
