When to go
The most pleasant months are April to June; September and October bring the grape harvest. Summer is hot. In winter the bora blows strongly in the valley and can affect traffic on the expressway.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
For the springs and the center, no. For Vipavski Križ, Goče and the wineries scattered across the valley, a car or a bicycle are necessary, because public transport is scarce.
