About Abu Tig Marina and Downtown El Gouna
Abu Tig marina is in the south of El Gouna, with docks for tour boats and yachts, surrounded by a waterfront promenade of cafés. It’s the departure point for boats to the area reefs.
The town center, Kafr El Gouna, has pedestrian streets, squares and domed and arched buildings inspired by Nubian and Upper Egyptian architecture, with shops and restaurants. Boats and tuk-tuks connect the center to the marina and the beaches.
At night, the marina promenade and the center squares concentrate the town’s activity.
In Kafr El Gouna’s center there is also a small museum and a square with the craft market, and the streets are pedestrianized, with tuk-tuks and bicycles.
Boats leaving the marina take visitors to offshore reefs and nearby islands for snorkeling.
