About Dahab Lagoon
The lagoon is in south Dahab, at the Masbat el-Laguna sand spit, where a sandbar creates an area of shallow, calm water separated from deeper sea. The wind that usually blows from the north most of the year makes the lagoon a place for lessons and windsurf and kitesurf training.
The schools on the shore rent boards and sails and give lessons to beginners, who can stand up in the shallow water. On the other side of the sandbar, the deep sea welcomes more experienced riders.
For non-practitioners, the lagoon has a sandy beach, with hotels and cafés around it, and calm water for swimming on low-wind days.
