About Bermuda Botanical Gardens

The Bermuda Botanical Gardens was established in 1898 and covers about 15 hectares in Paget, near Hamilton’s centre. It is maintained by the government and there is no entrance fee.

Paths cross lawns, woodlands, a native and endemic plant garden, a tropical fruit tree orchard, greenhouses and a sensory garden designed to be explored by touch and smell. There is also an area of cacti and succulents, which has been under restoration in recent years.

On the grounds are Camden, an 18th-century house that serves as the official residence of Bermuda’s premier, and the Masterworks art museum, housed in a former arrowroot processing shed. In April the garden hosts the annual agricultural show, one of the island’s traditional festivals.
