About Elbow Beach
Elbow Beach is one of Bermuda’s best-known beaches, with about 800 meters of clear, pinkish sand on Paget’s south coast. The name comes from the coastline’s bend, which forms an elbow shape.
Offshore reefs break some of the waves, and on calm days the water becomes clear and pleasant for swimming and snorkeling. The sand’s pink hue comes from fragments of a small red reef organism mixed with the limestone sand.
Part of the shoreline fronts a hotel, but the beach has public access points from South Road. It’s one of the beaches closest to the town of Hamilton and tends to attract locals late in the afternoon after work.
