The city

What to expect from Huamantla.

Huamantla is a colonial town about 45 km from the capital, at the foot of the La Malinche volcano, and is a Pueblo Mágico. In August, for the Virgin of Charity festival, the streets are covered with sawdust and flower carpets. It houses the Museo Nacional del Títere, the former Franciscan convent of San Luis Obispo and the Basilica of Charity.
