About Scenic Lookout San Carlos
The Mirador Escénico sits atop a rocky headland between the coves of San Carlos, at the end of the road that runs through the coastal neighborhoods. From the viewpoint you can see volcanic cliffs, small beaches with clear water, rocky islets and, on clear days, the open sea of the gulf.
A staircase and short paths lead to observation points at different heights. Around them grow saguaro and pitaya cacti, typical of the Sonoran Desert.
Many people climb up at dusk, when the cliffs turn orange in the low light. Below the mirador, boats and kayaks enter the coves where the clear water lets you see the rocky bottom.
