About Miramar Beach
Miramar is in Santiago Bay, about 15 km from downtown Manzanillo, on a long, open stretch of sand. The waves are usually stronger than in the coves, and the beach is used for surfing, bodyboarding and banana boat rides.
The beach has stalls and seafood restaurants on the sand, and a pier from which you can see the bay and the mountains. Further along the same bay are the beaches of Olas Altas, Santiago and La Boquita, where the wreckage of a sunken ship lies, visited by divers.
At sunset, with the sun descending behind the bay’s horizon, people gather on the pier. The coastal road connects Miramar to downtown Manzanillo and to the other beaches in the bay, with local buses.
