About Story Land

Story Land opened in 1954 when Bob and Ruth Morrell created a park to display German dolls of fairy-tale characters. It covers about 14 hectares in the Glen valley, a few kilometers from North Conway, and is aimed mainly at children aged 2 to 12.

The park has over 50 attractions, including rides, sets and shows, arranged in areas inspired by rhymes and stories. The best-known features are Cinderella’s castle with the pumpkin-carriage ride, the Roar-O-Saurus wooden coaster with a dinosaur theme, the Polar Coaster and the water slides Bamboo Chutes.

There are also water play areas like Moo Lagoon, a boat-battle attraction with water jets, and character shows throughout the day. Rides are low-intensity, suitable for little ones, and many allow parents to accompany children.

The park operates from late May to October, daily in summer and on weekends at the start and end of the season. In October it features Halloween decorations and programming.
