About Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened in 1967 and since 2001 occupies a downtown building whose windows recall piano keys. The collection includes instruments, stage costumes, cars, handwritten lyrics and recordings from many eras of country music.
The main exhibition traces the history of the genre, from the folk and religious roots of the American South to today’s styles. At the end, the Hall of Fame rotunda displays the bronze plaques honoring inductees. There are temporary exhibitions about singers and songwriters.
The museum organizes the visit to Historic RCA Studio B, the studio where Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton recorded, and maintains Hatch Show Print, a poster shop that has been producing show posters since the 19th century.
