About Hersheypark

Hersheypark began in 1906 as a recreational park for employees of Milton Hershey's chocolate factory, with lawns, a lake and a carousel. Over the 20th century it gained rides and roller coasters and became the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania.

Today the park has more than a dozen wooden and steel roller coasters, such as Candymonium, Skyrush and Lightning Racer, a dual-track coaster, as well as extreme rides, a children’s area featuring chocolate brand characters and live shows. The Boardwalk water park, included with admission, operates in summer with pools, a lazy river and water slides.

ZooAmerica, adjacent and also included with admission, exhibits North American animals like bears, lynx and wolves in habitats that mimic their natural environments.

The park opens in spring, is open daily in summer and returns on selected dates in autumn with Halloween programming, and at the end of the year with Christmas decorations, Christmas Candylane.
