About Hershey's Chocolate World
Hershey's Chocolate World opened in 1973 to replace factory tours, which had become too busy. It is the company’s official visitor center and is located next to Hersheypark.
The main attraction is the Chocolate Tour, a ride in small cars that travels through scenes about chocolate production, from cocoa plantations to the machines that wrap the bars, with music and animation. The ride and entry to the building are free of charge.
Other experiences cost extra: build-your-own chocolate bar with personalized packaging, a guided tasting, a 4D film and a trolley tour of the town with a guide. The shop and bakery sell products from all the company’s brands.
The building is open year-round and is usually crowded on weekends, especially in summer and at Christmas.
