About Riverwalk District
The Riverwalk District follows the Truckee River through downtown Reno, between old bridges and historic buildings. The riverside promenade has benches, public art and restaurants, and it’s the quieter side of Reno, away from the casino lights.
In the middle of the river, Wingfield Park occupies an island with an amphitheater, where concerts and festivals take place in summer. There is a whitewater park built for kayaking, also used for tubing on warm days.
The neighborhood has galleries, cafés and shops, and hosts events such as a monthly wine-tasting stroll and art festivals. The nearby Virginia Street bridge features the city’s illuminated arch with its slogan, one of the city’s most photographed spots.
