About Hurricane Harbor New Jersey
Hurricane Harbor New Jersey is next to Six Flags Great Adventure and is one of the largest water parks in the northeastern United States. The decoration mimics a tropical island, with shipwrecks and beach huts.
The park has more than 25 attractions: a large wave pool, a lazy river that winds through part of the area, free-fall and funnel slides like the Tornado, and family raft rides. Small children have shallow areas with slides and dumping buckets.
Private cabanas are rented separately, and there are food kiosks throughout the park. The crowd is mainly families from the New York and Philadelphia regions, and July and August weekends tend to be crowded.
The park opens in late May and closes in early September. On stormy days attractions may close for safety.
