About Many Glacier

Many Glacier is on the east side of Glacier National Park, in a valley enclosed by rock walls, with a series of lakes linked by streams and waterfalls. It is considered the park’s trail hub.

Swiftcurrent Lake, at the valley entrance, has an easy trail around it and boat rides that also cross Josephine Lake. From there depart the park’s most popular hikes: the Grinnell Glacier trail, which ascends to the edge of one of the park’s largest remaining glaciers, and the Iceberg Lake trail, where ice floes can be seen in early summer. Grizzly bears are often spotted on the slopes from a distance, and moose frequent the lakes.

The valley has lodging and campgrounds inside the park, and the access road usually has its own reservation rules in summer.
