The city
The second-largest city in Alaska, inland on the banks of the Chena River. Under the auroral oval, it is one of the cities most sought after for aurora viewing. It has the University of Alaska Museum of the North, Pioneer Park, the Morris Thompson cultural center and, nearby, a viewpoint for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
