About Denver Museum of Nature & Science
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is in City Park, east of downtown. It is one of the largest natural history museums in the country, with exhibitions on paleontology, zoology, geology, space, and health.
The prehistory gallery displays dinosaur skeletons and fossils found in Colorado, arranged chronologically. The animal dioramas, with hand-painted backdrops, recreate landscapes of the Americas and other continents. The minerals room includes Colorado gold and rare crystals, and the planetarium offers shows about the sky and space.
From the museum entrance and the west-facing windows, the view stretches across the City Park lake to downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains.
