About Pearl Street Mall
Pearl Street is Boulder’s main street, closed to cars for four blocks since the 1970s. The brick buildings, many dating from the late 19th century, house shops, bookstores, cafés and restaurants with sidewalk seating and flower beds in summer.
Street performers—musicians, jugglers and contortionists—entertain along the promenade, especially on weekends. At the end of the street stands the county courthouse building, with a lawn where the city gathers for events. In the background the Flatirons rise above the rooftops.
Pearl Street is a meeting place for residents and university students, and can be walked in a short time.
