About Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas Museum of Art is in the arts district north of downtown, in an Edward Larrabee Barnes limestone building. It is one of the largest art museums in the United States, with tens of thousands of works from many periods and continents.

The collection includes art from the ancient Americas, Africa and Asia, European painting by Monet, Van Gogh and Cézanne, American art and a decorative arts room with furniture and silverware. The Reves Collection recreates rooms from a Riviera villa of a collector couple, with Impressionist works and period furniture. Contemporary art includes works by Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock.

General admission to the permanent collection is free; some temporary exhibitions require a ticket.
