About Cave of the Winds
Cave of the Winds sits on a slope of Williams Canyon above Manitou Springs and has welcomed visitors since 1881. The limestone passages feature stalactites, stalagmites and delicate formations, lit along walkways.
The main guided tour covers about 800 meters of passages and explains how the caves formed and the history of explorers. A longer lantern-lit tour goes through darker, less illuminated sections.
On the canyon rim, the company that runs the cave has installed adventure attractions like a cliff swing and a cable-assisted climbing route. The parking area offers views of the canyon and the plains.
