About Cincinnati Art Museum
The Cincinnati Art Museum sits atop Eden Park, overlooking the Ohio River, in an 1886 Romanesque building — one of the first purpose-built art museums west of the Allegheny Mountains. The collection has roughly 67,000 works spanning six thousand years.
Galleries display Egyptian, Greek and Near Eastern art, European painting with works by Botticelli, Rubens, Gainsborough, Monet and Van Gogh, and American art. One wing is dedicated to Cincinnati’s artistic history, with Rookwood pottery made in the city and late-19th-century carved furniture.
There is no charge to see the permanent collection. Eden Park around it has overlooks, a lake and a conservatory.
