About Snowmass
Snowmass is the largest of the four Aspen Snowmass mountains, with slopes rising from about 2,500 to over 3,800 meters above sea level. The resort opened in 1967 and contains most of the skiable area in the complex.
Runs range from beginner areas low on the mountain to open bowls and steep high-elevation sections such as the Cirque slopes, reached by a surface lift. Many runs are wide and long, which appeals to families and groups with mixed abilities. Base Village and the Snowmass Mall, linked by a short gondola, sit at the foot of the slopes.
In summer, the mountain welcomes hikers and mountain bikers, and the Lost Forest at the top of the gondola features an alpine coaster, zip lines and treetop adventure courses.
