By the A1, the trip from Ljubljana takes about 40 minutes. The train station, on the line toward the coast, is about 2 km from the cave entrance; long-distance buses stop in the town center.
How many days
One day for the cave and Predjama Castle. With the second, include the Škocjan Caves near Divača.
When to go
Any month works, since the visits are underground. In summer there are more time slots and buses to Predjama; in winter, fewer. The galleries behind the castle only open in the warm season.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Not for the cave, which is near the center. A car helps for Predjama outside summer and for the Škocjan Caves.
