How many days
One day for the center, Jasna and Zelenci; two days allow you to include Planica and the Vršič road. As a base for trails or skiing, four days to a week.
When to go
From June to September, with trails and the Vršič road open and mild days in the valley. From December to March, there is generally snow for skiing; nights frequently fall below zero. April, May and November are quieter, and some huts and cable cars may be closed.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Not for the center, Lake Jasna and Zelenci, linked by paths and a cycle path. For Planica and the Vršič pass, a car saves time; in summer a seasonal bus climbs the pass toward Bovec.
