About Saskatchewan Legislative Building

The Saskatchewan Legislative Building was completed in 1912, a few years after the province was created, on a bend of Wascana Lake. The pale stone building has a long symmetrical façade and a high dome visible from many points in the park.

Inside, the staircase and corridors feature dozens of types of marble, and the legislative chamber has woodwork and stained glass. Guided tours explain the architecture, the province’s history and how the parliament works, and include paintings and portraits of figures from Saskatchewan’s past.

Surrounding formal gardens slope down to the lake and are part of the Wascana Centre. Check guided tour times.
