About Victoria Park

Victoria Park occupies the southern tip of Charlottetown, where the harbour opens into Hillsborough Bay. Covering about 16 hectares, it is the city's largest park and features a waterfront boardwalk, an old-growth tree grove, sports fields, a public swimming pool and picnic areas.

The boardwalk follows the shoreline and links the park to the downtown, about a 20-minute walk from the harbour. Along the way is Fort Edward, a 19th-century battery of cannons facing the harbour entrance, and above it Fanningbank, the lieutenant governor's official residence, set in gardens.

Locals use the park for running, cycling and walking dogs. In the late afternoon, the low light illuminates the water and the harbour entrance lighthouse.
