About Blue Rocks
Blue Rocks is a small fishing village about 5 km from Lunenburg, on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by islets. The name comes from the slate rocks that take on a blue-grey hue when wet.
A narrow road passes between wooden houses, painted fishing sheds, stacked lobster traps and small quays. There is no museum or visitor centre: the visit is a walk or a slow drive with stops to view the coves and islets.
Some businesses rent kayaks in the area for paddling among the islands when the sea allows. People live and work here: park only in permitted spaces and do not enter private quays.
