About Forillon National Park

Forillon National Park occupies the northeast tip of Gaspésie, between Gaspé Bay and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Created in 1970, it protects limestone cliffs, forests, pebble beaches and the point where the Appalachian range plunges into the sea.

The best-known trail leads to Cap-Gaspé, at the end of the peninsula, with a lighthouse on the cliff, an approximately 8 km round-trip hike. The Cap Bon-Ami viewpoint shows the northern cliffs. In the village of Grande-Grave, 19th-century houses and sheds from a fishing community tell the story of those who lived off cod fishing.

Seals often haul out on the rocks, and whales and dolphins appear in summer. The park is managed by Parks Canada and charges an entrance fee; services operate mainly from June to October. Check the current schedule.
