About Coaticook Gorge
The Coaticook Gorge is a narrow canyon carved by the Coaticook River, with rock walls about 50 meters high, in the town of Coaticook, about 30 km from Sherbrooke. The surrounding park has forest trails and viewpoints over the river.
The highlight is the suspended footbridge, 169 meters long, one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world when it opened, anchored on both sides of the canyon about 50 meters above the water. The crossing sways slightly with the wind and footsteps. Bike trails and a small campground complete the park.
At night, in part of the year, the park hosts Foresta Lumina, an illuminated trail through the forest. The park charges an entrance fee; check the season and the current rate schedule.
