Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) is about 100 km away, and Visalia is about 50 km via Highway 198. In summer, buses connect Visalia and Three Rivers to the Giant Forest.

When to go
From June to September, with all roads and Crystal Cave open. The town sits at low elevation and is very hot in summer; the groves, higher up, are cool.

Do you need a car?
Yes, except in summer when buses run to the Giant Forest and internal park buses operate. A car is needed for Crystal Cave.
