When to go

June through September for the beach and surfing. September and October have milder days and fewer people. In winter the wind is strong and many houses and restaurants close.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Very helpful, because the lighthouse, parks and beaches are spread out. There are taxis and bike rentals in the center.
