How many days

Half a day is enough for the castle, the old quarter and the town centre. A full day allows for a leisurely walk through the streets around the castle and a lunch of local cuisine. It works well as a day trip from Valencia.

When to go

Spring and autumn offer mild days for walking around the centre and the castle slopes. Summer is usually hot, and at the end of the season the patronal festivities and La Tomatina fill the town. In winter the nights are cool, since it is inland.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not for the centre: the Cercanías train reaches the town, and the castle and old quarter are explored on foot. A car helps to visit other localities in the comarca.
