About Spa Park Rogaška Slatina
The spa park (Zdraviliški park) occupies the center of Rogaška Slatina along Zdraviliški trg square, surrounded by spa buildings, some from the 19th century. It covers about 10,000 m² and is known for its beds: thousands of perennial flowers, boxwoods and rose bushes arranged in geometric patterns.
The tradition of treatments with the town’s water is ancient: there are Roman inscriptions referring to the springs, and the spa developed in the early 19th century with the support of Count Ferdinand Attems, whose statue stands in the park. The Tempel Pavilion is in the park next to the Donat water fountain, along with other monuments such as a small meteorological house and a ginkgo tree.
The buildings around the park recall the era of the Habsburg Monarchy spas, when aristocrats and bourgeois from Vienna and across Central Europe came for seasons. In summer the Tempel Pavilion and the park host concerts and events.
Walking routes start from the park toward the surrounding hills, with views over the town and Mount Boč.
