How many days

Two days: one for the Orava Village Museum, another for the Roháče lakes circuit. For the ridge summits, add one or two more days.

When to go

From mid‑June to the end of October, when the high trails of the Roháče are usually open. In winter there is skiing and valley walks. In the mountains the weather changes quickly, and afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Recommended. Buses are infrequent, and a car makes it easier to get early to trailheads and to the museum.
