About Malinô Brdo
Malinô Brdo is the mountain area of the Veľká Fatra just above Ružomberok, between about 545 and 1,209 meters of elevation. The highest point is Malinné hill, locally also known as Malino. An eight-person gondola cable car, about 1.8 km long, rises from the Hrabovo neighborhood, roughly 1 km from the town center, to the station area.
In winter, the area operates as a ski resort, with slopes, a chairlift to the summit and space for sledding. In summer, the gondola carries hikers and cyclists: there are mountain bike trails that descend from the top, downhill scooters for the descent and waymarked paths along the ridge.
From the summit, the view opens over Ružomberok, the Low Tatras, the Chočské vrchy hills and the Liptovská Mara reservoir. A marked trail links Malinô Brdo to Vlkolínec, allowing you to visit the village on foot and return by cable car.
