Kežmarok – Prešov Destination Levoča and Spiš Castle

How to get there

  • Letisko Poprad-Tatry (TAT) Poprad · 15 km
  • Kežmarok 1 km

Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.

By train on the line departing from Poprad, in about 20 minutes, or by bus. By car, it’s about 15 km from Poprad and 30 km from Levoča. Poprad–Tatry airport is about 15 km away.

How many days

Half a day for the castle, the wooden church and the square. Kežmarok also serves as a base for the High Tatras, about 20 minutes by car from Tatranská Lomnica.

When to go

From May to October, when the castle has full hours. In July, the EĽRO craft festival fills the town centre streets. In winter the town is quiet, and the Tatras in the background are often snow-covered.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

No. The station is a few minutes’ walk from the centre, and the castle and church can be visited on foot. A car helps to combine Ždiar, the Tatras or Levoča in the same day.
