When to go
From June to September, when the museum and the castle have longer opening hours and the Kremnické gagy humour festival fills the town at the end of August. In winter it is cold and it often snows in the mountains.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Not necessary for the visit: the centre is small and can be seen on foot. A car makes it easier to combine Kremnica and Banská Bystrica on the same day, because buses are less frequent.
