About SS Sicamous
The SS Sicamous is a sternwheeler steamship built in 1914 for the Canadian Pacific Railway. For more than two decades it carried passengers, mail, and fruit cargoes between towns on Okanagan Lake at a time when valley roads were poor.
Retired in the 1930s, the ship was brought to Penticton’s beach and restored as a museum. The visit covers the decks, the wood-paneled saloons, the dining room, the cabins, and the wheelhouse, with exhibits about inland lake navigation. Nearby are an old tugboat and a rose garden.
The museum is at the west end of the Okanagan Lake beach. Check opening days and the current schedule.
