About Skaha Bluffs
Skaha Bluffs is a provincial park on the hills east of Skaha Lake, a few kilometers south of Penticton. The slopes are cut by hundreds of gneiss cliffs, an ancient, rough rock that makes the area one of Canada’s main climbing centers, with thousands of routes.
For non-climbers, dirt trails wind between the cliffs through grasslands and pines, with viewpoints over Skaha Lake and the valley. Bighorn sheep are commonly seen on the slopes, and snakes like the Pacific rattlesnake live in the region: stay on the trails.
The park has parking and day-use areas. In summer the heat can be strong during midday.
