About Knox Mountain Park
Knox Mountain Park occupies a dry-sloped mountain north of Kelowna, beside Okanagan Lake. It is the city’s largest natural park and one of locals’ favorite places for walking and running.
A narrow road and several trails climb to two main viewpoints, with wide views of the lake, the bridge, downtown Kelowna and the mountains across the water. Vegetation consists of grasses, pines and dry-interior shrubs, with spring wildflowers. At the base, Paul’s Tomb beach, reached by trail, lies in a quiet cove.
The road is closed to cars part of the year and at some hours. In summer, do the climb early, before the heat, and bring water.
