About Kelowna Waterfront
Kelowna’s waterfront follows Okanagan Lake through the city center, from City Park to the marina and the Waterfront Park neighborhood. A boardwalk links beaches, lawns, piers and restaurants, with the William R. Bennett Bridge crossing the lake in view.
City Park, the largest downtown park, has a beach, picnic area and large trees by the water. Near the pier stands the Ogopogo sculpture, the creature that, according to a regional legend, lives in the lake’s depths; the figure comes from stories of the Syilx people, the valley’s original inhabitants.
In summer the waterfront is busy, with people swimming, paddling on boards and in kayaks, and tour boats leaving the marina.
